Wes Young

Wes Young teaches literature at Bleckley County High School where he serves as chair of the Language Department. He is a three-time recipient of the Teacher of the Year award and one-time winner of the 2021 District-Wide Teacher of the Year. A member of Limestone Baptist Church, he also preaches (pulpit supply) in the middle Georgia area and was ordained to the Gospel ministry in 2013. He is a graduate of Bleckley County High School (2005), the University of Georgia (2009), and the Etowah Valley MFA at Reinhardt University (2020). As a lifetime middle Georgia resident, he knows the South as it really is, and seeks to portray the place and people authentically in his writings. He is a passionate advocate for adoption and foster care and hopes all children will be fortunate enough to find good families. He lives on two acres in the rural backroads of middle Georgia—surrounded by a dog, a cat, two rabbits, and several goats. He shares these crazy acres with his beautiful wife (who brings life to life) and his two amazing daughters (who make each day interesting).

“What we want is not more little books about Christianity, but more little books by Christians on other subjects, with their Christianity latent.”
